PERC President Michael Turner will attend the Harvard Law School Program on International Financial Systems’ (PIFS) Thirteenth Annual Symposium on Building the Financial System of the 21st Century: An Agenda for Japan and the United States. The symposium will be a dialog on capital markets, financial regulation, and international finance. Participants will discuss new banking regulations and their implications for international banking, macro-prudential control and a new regulatory regime, and desirable macro-economic policy.

Dr. Michael Turner will present PERC research on credit information sharing, including credit file data quality and the social and economic impacts of including non-financial payment data in FCRA-regulated consumer and commercial credit files. PERC's Dr. Robin Varghese will serve as a presenter of credit information and a moderator of group discussion at APEC's "Getting Credit for Small and Medium Enterprises" seminar this September in Japan. The seminar, part of the Ease of Doing Business (EoDB) program (http://www.doingbusiness.org/ExploreTopics/GettingCredit/), will aim to deepen knowledge with regard to utilizing credit information to establish better environment for access to credit.

Dr. Michael Turner will serve on the keynote panel on April 16, 2010 at FICO World 2010 (formerly called InterACT). The panel, on Regulatory Revolution, will discuss the relationship between governments and financial services, caused (or exacerbated) by the economic crisis.
